Due to the instability of the Windows system, the network icon in the lower right corner of the desktop may turn into a globe after connecting to a VPN (as shown below). You can solve this problem through the following methods.

1. Intel Connectivity Network Service / Intel Connectivity Service incompatibility issues

If this service exists on your computer, compatibility issues may occur. You can set it up according to the following steps:

Press Windows+R ;

Enter Services.msc in the input box and press Enter, the "Services" dialog box will pop up;

Find "Intel Connectivity Network Service / Intel Connectivity Service" and double-click to enter the corresponding service properties operation panel;

Find "Service Status" and select Disabled, and select "Disabled" from the "Startup Type" drop-down menu;

After clicking "Apply", restart the device

Return to the "Services" dialog window and check whether the Intel Connectivity Network Service / Intel Connectivity Service is successfully disabled

Disable it successfully

2. Special settings for Dell computers

Some settings on Dell computers may affect the use of VPN connections. You can solve the problem according to the following steps:

Press Windows+R ;

Then enter Services.msc in the input box and press Enter to pop up the "Services" dialog box;

Find the following three services

“ExpressConnect AP Selector Service”

"ExpressConnect Dynamic Bandwidth Management"

"ExpressConnect Network Service"

Double-click to enter the corresponding service attribute operation panel;

Find "Service Status" and select "Disable" from the "Startup Type" drop-down menu;
